Play Analysis
I’m still trying to put all together since Saturday after our Final, I have at least three large
Paintings to finish and some of projects for my Printmaking class and final. As far as Play Analysis class, I’m glad that I decided to take it. At the beginning was kind of challenge following the Professor’s Baldwin tech language and ideas, but at the end I’m glad that I decided to stick around. So I learned a lot from the readings and movies and also from my classmates.
The Tank Final presentation was very fun, watching Chris performing with such passion was great. He really knows what road he will take at the end.
But of course, I have to say something about the other groups “no chance of presentation after all their work, including myself:
Here are some of my recordings from THE TANK. I hope you enjoy!

Final at THE TANK
It was a hassle to get out the house. I thought that I would never make to the City and get there on time. The event run smoothly and it seems that everyone knew exactly their roles I was a little disappointed at the end because we didn’t have the opportunity to show our projects as well, but it was worth the sacrifice. Here is a little movie that I put together on the way . Hope you enjoy!

Finals and Knowledge
I think that finals really push us to the edge: the show and tell game. Show what you got and I tell you what is your grade. I think that is the good side of this class. It was very hard to grasp the idea and
all the tech knowledge required, games, apps, and all that language that I, honestly, was floating in the air. All I know is how to hold an brush and a barren (those all printmaking tools) in addition to my camera. At the end I’m very happy, because at the edge that I put myself into, I learned that I know more than I can show . In only two days I was able to learn and put into Imovie my final project and
when I finished I was literally jumping up and down. How rewarding knowledge can be right?
That is going to be a really show and tell.

Hamlet Finals
Here we are and almost there for the final project. Is going to be a real success.
My file was over the limit of 5MB, that I could not get on the size required unless I had the
movie cut into half and I didn’t know how to shrink the movie, and honestly, it took me so many hours of hard work that I did not want to remove one thumb nail.
So I really hope to make it tomorrow and get it well done. So see you all tomorrow.

Early morning blog
The painting was ordered as "Harmony in Blue," but Matisse was dissatisfied with the result, so he painted it over with his preferred red and I choose to reproduce it.
It is said that to reproduce a work of art from one of the Masters it is flattering. I though it was pretty difficult . Here is the result. Hope you like it.

Heres it is the original

House of Games and Trust
House of Games, David Mamet’s movie, was a great last week.
We had opportunity to learn about how a con ma works.
On the movie a well known psychiatric, specialized in compulsive behavior in an attempt to help her patient gets involved with a charlatan.
The movie has intense scenes; trust is the key, in my opinion the director incite us to think. Funny scenes such as the angry men that gained the game was asking for his money, showing his gun and we find that it was a squirt gun.
The scene and suspense that made us to believe the gambler was really up to start shutting everyone because of the money. Was trust into the game?
I did believe that the gun was real, until I saw the water dripping out, so did the psychiatrist.
Well done movie.

Looking forward for summer

While organizing the house for today’s Thanksgiving dinner I found a disposable camera that I bought for my trip to AquaPark, or Splish Splash, with my daughter this summer. It was our first time there and we really, really had a ball. From the lowest to the highest roller coaster, we went on all. Deborah was fearless and open to try everything that she was allowed to.
It was the best summer ever, I felt getting back in time when I had the same experiences with my mother, just like it. Here’s the pic.
Hamlet and Thanksgiving

It seems that it was so far, but really wasn’t. Finals are right on the corner, and I fell like I’m frozen. Today, I was multitasking-cooking/researching on my finals” Hamlet", and has been so difficult to find printmakers that somehow has depicted Hamlet. I’ve been all over.
I could swear that Rembrandt had done something about Hamlet, but I was wrong.
Many artists, have depicted Hamlet, but I will keep the in the search of printmakers this week.
In a meantime, lets eat the Turkey. Here’s a picture of the day.
By the way, Deborah,my daughter took the picture.

Don Juan Game
Since last Tuesday I’ve thinking of the "Don Juan Game” and its results. I was really disappointed when I learned that the reason that nobody could log on the Blogger was because the password was changed. After all the “words” we said and used in classroom and our opinion, one of my classmates came to apologize, which I think that was honest and I really appreciated.
Talking about the “game” itself I think that if someone had or thought about going rogue should find
a smart way out. What I mean by that? There’s no shortcuts in life. If you want to succeed the smart way is never short. Just think of how much time reading, blogging, using smart or no smart phone we have to pull up with in order to pass.
Still thinking about going rogue? What is the short cut for that? Unplugging the gadgets or changing password won’t give anyone the “As”.
So, for those who worked hard please copy and past the link . You’ll find on UTube I posted.

Difficult Painting Assignment

I believe that an artist, regardless of what kind of medium used, has to have the ability to convey his true feelings and emotions ,to share his moment
and to connect with the viewer as if they had the same feelings or as if they could read each other minds which is one of the reasons that I really don’t enjoy abstract.
I just can’t understand, no matter how the artist justifies his work. I just can’t connect. And speaking of conveying ideas, I have a very challenging painting assignment this week that is to paint something that I consider ugly, chocking, unspeakable, anything that I think that could express a bad side of painting.
As I was flipping pages on my Art Book I came across with one ,that I personally would never hang on my wall: is a 1953 version of Diegos’ Velasquez, Portrait of Innocent X, by Francis Bacon called Study after Portrait of Innocent X.
He portrayed the Pope, with a screaming look, opened mouth, with black and purple colors on the background and the pope seems to be chained at the chair, that looks like an electric chock execution chair, but at the same time he looks like he is floating. I could go on with the whole formal analysis but still would describe how disturbing his paint is. I attached to give the viewer an idea.
By looking at it, you might understand how difficult is to find an subject that would surpass Francis Bacon’s paint.
Well, good luck to me.

Art and Technology
During last lecture my point about games/technology versus art was raised:
“Were the Art will be? I mean painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpting, and all kinds of art.
If we look back on some of the most famous art created by Durer, Blake, Botticelli, Matisse, etc., I could keep going on this list, which will never be replaced, their knowledge, I meant skills, I’m not talking about talent, will always be necessary in order have a character for a computer game. In my opinion technology can enhance Fine Art, if needed and If combined, according to the artist need, games with a character, needs to be drawn, to have personality, details in order to be a real character and attract the viewer/player, even if the player is a 5 years old child, otherwise will be turned off after five minutes.

Overwhelmed, but moving on
I’m overwhelmed, not that I feel, I’m really overwhelmed. When I left my country years ago I had a dream and a goal set. It took me lots os patience,a huge amount of work and desire to get here.
Today, as I write I have so much on my plate, but still I had the inspiration to look back and ahead, kind of compare and contrast, and I see the the door. Just some more steps ahead, and the feeling of being overwhelmed fades away.
