This is 'The Time' by Black Eyed Peas performed by TheDonkeyWheel. This guy sings all the electric parts and voice parts alone!! He's SO good at this kind of thing. It's 100% musical talent+video editing skill. Amazing!! isn't it? Of course this girl is out of tune, but she's still good as well. imo, this is the real talent, and people like this deserve more attention!

Why Charlie Chaplin is the illest director out there

I wrote about Charlie Chaplin earlier today on some brainstorm shit on why he's the illest director who ever lived. One main reason Chaplin was such a powerful force in film was because of his sincerity. He always stayed true to himself, and never made his silent characters speak for any large sum of money offered to him. One big occurrence in his life was when films began to switch from silent to talking movies, he decided not to conform to what Hollywood wanted and continued to make silent films. When almost no production company would sponsor his silent films, he financed them himself. He felt that the language of silent film was more powerful than anything that could be verbally communicated.
The innovation known as "talkies" was first introduced in 1927 with The Jazz Singer. After that, talkies became the dominant mode of film making. Chaplin was repeatedly criticized for his resistance to make a film using sound through the 1930s. He was accused of having a hideous voice, and because of this he was scared to make a talkie. He was also accused of committing to silent films for the soul reason that he simply couldn't make a talkie even if he wanted to. I can't think of any director who went through such disapproval throughout his lifetime. Even so, Chaplin didn’t really feel any pressure to prove these skeptics wrong, as his main passion was to perform.

Immersive Gameplay

I thought this video was pretty interesting. Someone designed this immersive racing simulator seat in his own home. Impressive and looks pretty fun. The seat will tilt, simulating acceleration and deceleration.

SketchUp ideas

Getting very much frustrated with this program. Have ideas and visions but having trouble executing them. So all honesty, I'm not ready with a whole walk through video yet but here's what I've been thinking about and trying and considering.

A subway station-style museum entrance, a la Brooklyn Transit Museum, solely because I think it would be an awesome entrance. Love tunnels, love transit stuff. And a tunnel layout for the galleries.

Or something deeper and more symbolic. Since the museum is about family history: The "Palacia de Justicia" or Justice building in Colombia. Completely ironic usage.

Because it is a country with no justice.

Side note about blog post content:
Impossible for me to drop out a few completely useless and incoherent sentences as a blog post. Meaningful content is everything. Frustrating to struggle with my post count when I've tried to make every post personal, insightful and meaningful and I see people throwing down a few illiterate sentences and Prof. Baldwin tells the class everyone's doing great. Just can't bring myself to do it.

Effort: The Best Gift to Give

Working off the topic of my last post and taking it in another direction (all the while getting another blog post done. Score!), I'm learning slowly to be brutally honest with myself and look at my dilemmas logically rather than favorably. In doing so, I came up with a theory for my pathetic state of mind and even more pathetic grades: I put no effort in because I more or less hate this school, and I hate this school because I find it atrociously boring. My mindset stopped there until I came to a huge realization-- I may only see this school as atrociously boring because I haven't been involving myself in it nearly enough.

I know fully well that there are organizations, clubs, and events very well worth my time at Stony Brook, but I never know where to start looking, and thus I never do. Instead, I follow the same general routine every day and indulge in going home for as long as possible whenever I don't have class because I find sitting at home somehow far more productive and entertaining than sitting in the dorm. The thought never occurred to me that if I stay here for more than three days a week there may be things worth attending, people worth meeting, and experiences worth gaining waiting for me right under my nose. Hey, it's worth a try at very least, right?

Ads on Facebook

When I log in the facebook, I can see the advertisement on the right side of webpage. At first time, I didn’t care about what kind of ads are showing on my webpage. However, I realized that these ads are something related to what I need to know and purchase at that time. For example, after I started to use Facebook with my Blackberry, there was advertisement related with Blackberry device on my webpage. In addition, as I am majoring in business, it usually introduces MBA program on Facebook advertisement.

It is interesting that ads on Facebook are changed every time and how Facebook knows what people will need. Facebook might have a huge database which can analyze each user’s interest, and can show proper ads on each person’s own webpage. As I thought about ads at first time, some facebook users cannot believe the impact of ads on Facebook, but it is incredible and amazing. Since there are a lot of facebook users all over the world, marketing with Facebook has a powerful impact.
