The mother

While watching the film, I slightly pity the mother... As for a single woman with no husband or son... It is a bit depressing. I completely understood how she felt when she was talking to her son's friend about leaving her daughter-in-law alone. Being a widow and alone without her child is absolutely sad. Although I thought of the mother a bit selfish, I totally understood where she was coming from when she says she cant live and survive with her daughter-in-law. If there was no love or having someone there to take care of you or keep you company, it is absolutely hard to live life each day. I could imagine myself being alone at Stony alone all by myself in an empty suite and I can definitely feel depress and can certainly cry out. It gets quite depressing here at Stony because you are away from your loved one and theres really nothing to do all by yourself & you certainly not able to share your feelings to others. This is why it saddens me a bit when the mother begged her son's friend to leave the daughter-in-law alone because she states that she couldn't survive without her.
