Oedipus

Yesterday, i watched a korean horror movie epitaph with friends. The movie consisted of 2 stories. While watching the movie, I realized one of the stories is pretty related Oedipus complex. The woman remarried to a rich, gentle man. Woman's daughter fell in love with him because he was so warm and nice to her and he was gentle and gorgeous. She was so jealous that her mother and step dad loved each other. So when three of them are in the car, mother and step father holding hands, the daughter tried to interrupt them and hugged him at the back. She even said to her mother that she wished that she was gone away. Her distraction of driving caused an accident and mom tried to save her daughter even though she was dying. It was a scary story and even sad but it is exactly about Oedipus complex so it reminded me of it while watching the movie. Also, I read an article that at a research, 5 year old boys generally feel competitive against their fathers. It is so surprising that such a thing really exists.
