Onibaba film second reaction
In the film, the mask symbolizes a person who multiple of personalities. The mask in this film can be defined as someone who tries to cover one's identity to show another different personality. It can also be defined as someone who tries to reveal another side of him/her. With the idea where mask is known to cover up one's identity, this relates to reality. In reality, people puts a mask on everyday, they show different faces with fake expressions. I grew up dealing with drama during my junior high school years. People tends to cause drama and calling people "2 face" where they show one personality at one point and then becomes a hypocrite or showing another personality a moment later. During junior high school, there was always drama, about people being 2 face and going up to a group of people telling them one thing and talking behind other people's back and then a moment later, going up to another group of people and telling them another thing and talking behind the previous' group's back. People like this are consider 2 face and can be seen (easily noticed) around carrying a mask around. This connects to Onibaba in a way because the mother shows two different kinds of personality, when she is with her daughter-in-law she acts totally different like she doesn't know anything about the daughter-in-law seeing ghost/demons at night and at the same moment, puts on a mask and tries to frighten her daughter-in-law to never have any sexual relationship with her husband's friend.
