the pocker faces and the way we talk.

In the class we talked about the different types of languages that were used in Hamlet. Likewise, still in our society, I see many people speak intentionally in a way to express them as the person that they want to be. If you go to the middle or High school, you will definitely hear a lot of curse words. Even though these students know how bad it is to use these kinds of language, they still use it because of their reputations.

Saying, ‘F’ words in every words that they speak support these reputations of young guys as being a real men. For the girls, saying, ‘oh my word’, or ‘I love your shoes’..etc. represents somehow this girlish side of the girls, so they had to used it in order to survive in this world.

When I first came to America, I avoid myself to learn these unnecessary filling words to know because I felt that if I learn these words, I might be lose the real words. But few weeks later, I realized this is all I have to learn in order to have a fluent American teenager conversation. So I put these poker face words and pretended to be a normal American teenage girl.
