tech
Technology is my life. I wake up from an alarm on my cellphone then immediately check for text messages. Sometimes I even go straight to the computer to check my emails and once in awhile go on facebook to chat with friends. I use to think that technology was a bad way for people to learn how to socialize with others. What I've realized over the years was that socializing with people on the internet isn't as bad as I thought. I mean how can we possibly have the time to see our close friends or a friend from another state everyday? We have school and some even have work. When I was growing up in queens my parents were always telling me to come home early. Communication technology made communication much quicker. How else would I have been able to keep contact with my friends who live further away? The only way to keep in touch was to be able to talk through internet social networks such as facebook and AOL instant messenger. So all in all I believe that to a certain extent, when the use of technology expands, it improves relationships as long as it doesnt become an addiction. Through the use of text messaging and instant messaging, more frequent conversations occur and intimate relationships with friends remain, although some intimacy is lost.
