Jamie Foxx-Fall For Your Type

This reminds me of Freud so much because how could we have a 'type' without knowing what we are always attracted to.

The Women

It's getting holiday season, and I get a lot of free coupons and brochures in my mailbox from Sephora, Macys, Michael Kors, and Ulta, etc. They attract their target markets with thousands of products, mostly the cosmetics and clothings. It's not guaranteed that they are gonna look same as the skinny glamorous models in the magazine. Annette Bening once said that in the movie 'The Women' that the models don't even look like how they appeal in the magazine. It's like 'power of the modern technology'. Anyway, then why do we spend so much money on the expensive clothes? Why does people care about their appearance so much? I saw so many girls preparing like an hour to come to school and go back to their dorm after taking one class. I didn't really understand them and felt like they are way too conscious of the others attention. I didn't understand them right until my roommate taught me how to make up. Oh my god, it was a shock lol. I didn't know my eyes could look that big. So I started to buy eyeliner stuff. gosh, they were way more expensive then I thought but the stuffs were like 'must have' items for girls. It's funny that I didn't have any of those until last month but now I feel like I must have them..! so I try not to buy them on impulse. And when I draw the eyelines, I feel like I got much bigger eyes, but my boyfriend and friends don't even know that I did make up:( They know that I look a little different, but not really know about the eyelines lol So now I know that it's all about self satisfaction.

Are my posts being submitted?

I submitted a couple blogs on Chaplin throughout the day but didn't see them up on blogger, so I re-posted them again, hopefully they'll appear. They won't be labelled as separate posts. Even though he was known mainly for his silent films, he loved the cinema so much that he eventually did give talking films a try. People generally associate Chaplin with his silent films, but the few talking films he directed were just as legendary as his silent classics. Chaplin’s art is so moving that even today, big-time Hollywood filmmakers are making silent films in his honor. I have yet to find my true talent in life, but when I do I will stick to it, and will never give up my abilities if people don't seem to like it. I learned from Chaplin that if I am good at what I do, then I should persist and hopefully prevail, just as he did.
Chaplin’s story is hopeful, as he finally earned the love of filmgoers through his hard work and genius. Silent Film was his craft, just as Donatello's craft was sculptures. He stuck with his craft even when nobody seemed to support him. He continued to pursue his art over a decade after it was evident that other filmmakers had left silent films behind. When people saw his silent films during the sound era, they realized, just as Chaplin did, that movies don’t need to consist of people talking in order to be amusing.

Theater Progress

Well, this is what I got so far. I really wish I had more time to work on this. Between all the midterms, projects, and homeworks I've had, I haven't been able to manage my time effectively. This theater basically has a circular style to it and has a lot of lighting setup. You can see floor lighting setup too around the stage and some floor lights in the back.

Homecoming

I feel like every year they make a big deal about drinking during the homecoming game tailgate. And every year nothing happens, I'm not complaining that nothing happens, I'm glad they still let people drink otherwise no one would really show up to the tailgate.

Well...It's a Start

My official first attempt at the museum project is going...slowly. But it's a work in progress! I'm still learning the basics, and seeing all the other, professionally done designs on this blog perplexes me; kind of feel pressured to step it up. All I've done thus far is make an interesting shape for the front of the building, colored it accordingly, and then found some windows on the Warehouse to use on the wall. Like I said, it's taking a bit of time, but I'm trying to make this as much of an original piece as possible as to understand all the aspects of this program more clearly.

Learning new skills

When I first selected ‘media-arts’ as a minor, I honestly did not expect any of the courses to give out such strange and troublesome project such as the ‘museum project.’ The project itself requires me to create the digital model of the museum that contains the pictures of my family along with a bit of the explanation of our history.

For better understanding of my situation, I should tell the background information on my computer skills. I have experiences on writing my thoughts and reasoning, browsing web and applications, communicating with others, and editing photos with Adobe products, but I have no experience on creating a building structure that takes much time to spend in front of the computer.

However, the more I get frustrated with the project, I tend to be more persistent on finishing the project that I see myself being adjusted to the program faster than I expected. I can imagine myself smiling after everything is done, being thankful that I get to do my works in much timely manners since I had to be alerted all the time with the time management.
