Daughter’s weddings are for their moms

Today I am flying home from Nashville, after a wedding for my step-cousin or whatever you call it. It was an interesting wedding. It was located at an Episcopalian Church, but they through in Jewish traditions to honor our family, even though we are not directly related. It was very sincere and very nice. However, at the reception I realized something. Maybe this something that’s only directed towards my aunt cause she is self-centered and crazy, but it’s just a thought I’d like to share;

It seemed like her daughters wedding was not meant for her daughter to celebrate, but for herself to celebrate. She was walking around the party so perky making her husband do everything for her while she could walk around and receive congratulations for her, visiting tables while her daughter was perched at the highest table. So are weddings really for the people actually getting marries, or are for the mothers? Or are the sons really getting married to their mothers…. Hum…
