Ghosts

People are keep guessing if ghosts are really exist in the world, but it doesn't matter because I am thinking about the spirits in literary and visual works. Ghosts appear in many artistic works, and sometimes they play really importamt roles.

In Hamlet, the King's spirit is the one tells Hamlet the truth. He is considered a ghost who had been wrongly accused, and I think Shakespeare create him to show that even though the crime is not a failure, the truth will show up whatever, and lies won't last long. It also means that at that time, some pioneers are trying to tell the truth and pursuing liberty.

Ghost in Onibaba is totally different. There is actually no ghost in the movie even though the word is included in its name. What the movie wants to show is that human are more evil than ghost. The old woman pretend to be a ghost to scare the other woman because she doesn't want to lose her, and she wants her because she can help killing. They don't have love in family. She is successful as a ghost at first, but then the bad thing happened, and she cannot take of the mask, so she becomes a real ghost. That is not what she suppose to be, but she forces herselfe to be like that.
