Roswetha

If I'm not mistaken, Roswetha is about a man name Gallicanus going off to war in order to marry Constance. While reading this play, it reminds me of another play written by William Shakespeare called "The Taming of the Shrew". This play is about a woman named Katharina who is described as someone who is wild, stubborn, hardheaded and tends to scare most of the guys away with her misbehavior and ugly personality. Somehow a guy named Petruchio came along and decides to marry her due to wealth. I can't really think of why this play reminds me of Roswetha.. maybe its because of the idea where both men tries to go for a woman and would do anything just to get with her. Gallicanus listened and went to war just to marry Constance and Petruchio on the other hand tries to tame Katharina and make her fall in love with her in order to marry her and get wealth out of it.
