Though sex should be used at a last resort, in many of the plays we read women use sex to get what they want. One of the main reasons I believe this happens is particularly because men in these time periods did not take the thoughts and wishes of women into account as much as they do now a day. Gertrude and Jocaste use the only weapon they have that men at this time will appreciate, sex. They use the fact that sex is a wanted need to get what they want; like terrorist use water and food to torture and provoke POW to do what they want and answer information. I don’t think for these women, that sex shows their weakness but the weakness of the men they are manipulating. Many of them can have any women they want but they fall in the traps of these women. If you don’t consider sex a talent then that’s one thing, but to manipulate these powerful men with simple words and touch is.
