Tyler Clementi

Recently in the news and all over the Internet and radio, people have been talking about this young man, Tyler Clementi who jumped off the GW bridge to his death a few weeks ago. The young man was a student at Rugters University in New Jersey and he apparently committed suicide because he was filmed preforming sexual acts with another man. He was ridiculed for being gay and it caused him so much trauma that he killed himself. Although his story is sad, hundreds of thousands of gay, lesbian, transexual, and bisexual teenagers have suffered the same fate. Its upsetting that it finally took a sensationalized story to get attention from the public that bullying and making fun of the LGBTA teenagers in America can lead to tragic accidents. Moreover, every single one of the teens that killed themselves due to similar situations should get the same amount of press coverage as Tyler Clementi, people in America dont realize how often things like this happen and I feel like schools and institutions should really start programs to make students more aware and open.
