daddy Vs. Mommy

So most of what we know, daddy is > Mommy. At least society wise. The male figure is bigger than the female figure and it's like that in many societies. It's more equal here in the states but in places across the sea such as the middle east or asia, The paternal figure is even larger than they are here. The women in those areas have very little say in much to do with life or the marriages which are at many times arranged or in the family.

I actually read an article in the times the other day on Middle eastern women. Basically families would dress up their daughters who have not yet hit puberty yet as little boys. This would raise the status of families and eliminate questions or gazes of pity from neighbors upon the fact that they only have daughters in the family.
This would cause an unease for the girls who are given the freedom boys have and then have it taken away from them once they start to develop their natural features as women. Some have to jump from being a boy and into an arranged marriage. Many young girls have trouble re adapting to the adjustment back to being girls and the restrictions that follow that role. Many chose to stay boys as long as they possibly can pass for it. School teachers will sometimes find out about this but will sympathize with the families for their loss in not having a boy and keep the change a secret. Differences between these roles of male and female have slowly died out but are still dominant in many cultures.
