Interactive experiences

The professor recently talked about the spectacle of places such as the theatre, roman coliseum, or even on the Internet. We basically talked about how these things had a way of getting the attention of people and mystifying them. When you think about the Greek theatres, it didn't matter if you were a slave, a women, or a man. Everyone showed up to the theatre to watch these performances to get away from their ever day lives and enjoy the spectacle of the show. Why is it today that we still go to things such as Broadway plays or the movies? I think that it's because of that spectacle and the ability to get away from reality. In all honesty who really wants to live their life dealing with all their problems 24 hours everyday.
