Is time going faster?

When I was a kid everything felt so slow and the days felt so long. From the moment I woke up in the morning and went to school around 8 A.M., I use to think that “time” is “slow”, and the days are just very “long” as sunrise to sunset was extremely slow, I use to think. By the time I was a teenager, I thought that it took a long time to feel a bit older, to become a teen. However, by the time I became a high school senior, I began to think that “that was too fast”. I started to feel that sometimes you don’t notice “it”, but time flies by.

I may have felt that time feels slow when I was younger because I was just a kid playing, eating, sleeping, and going to school for approximately 10 months out of the year every year. It was a routine, a routine that was one and the same, for many years. Starting from 8^th grade, the old routine changed a bit and gradually kept changing and I was doing more things than just simply eating, sleeping, and going to school for about 7 to 8 hours. Even then, the days felt long although not as long as it felt when I was in elementary school. After graduating from high school, “life” just became much faster-there is much more and intensive school work to do and the “school year” is actually about 7 months of college for 2 semesters every year. In other words, it feels like time is going much faster because we are doing so much more per day whereas so much less was done just 10 years ago.

It may be just that we are doing so much work per day that we feel as if time is flying by even though the rate of time has not changed. Is that really so? Is it just me or does other people e feel the same way? I think time is going by much faster, and faster by the year since 2006. Many people actually feel that “time is flying”. People feel that the days go by much faster nowadays. The time it takes 60 seconds to be equal to 60 seconds takes the same amount of time. So it’s easy to argue that time is not going “faster”, yet it feels like it is actually going by faster by the year and I feel as if the sun rises and sets so much faster (days are flying by) even though rate of time did not become faster.
