Millions of Don Juan

The name Don Juan is pretty famous around thousands of years. When people mention someone who is dissolute that chases every woman he saw, they say "he is such a Don Juan." The actual Don Juan was a spanish aristocrat in 15's century, and he kidnaped a girl, and then murdered the girl's father. Then, many artists put him into their works with success and high artistic value, especially Byron, Mozard and Moliere, the author of which we discussed in class.

The different works, which we have comedy, opera, and heroic, actually talk about Don Juan in interesting ways. He is debauched, but also different from others in that period of time. These authors gave him huge significance. The storys are attactive that audience couldn't stop reading it even though they don't feel good about Don Juan in person. I don't see many vivic and dramatic contents a lot comparing to Don Juan.

Grand Theft Auto

The ideal of being able to break as many rules as possible is an amazing thing to human beings who live with society and its rules. Grand Theft Auto lets people to act on their own non restrained selves with the consequences of society and being immortal. The only reason why humans don't do the same as what the person would do in the game is that the consequences in real life are real and once your dead you don't come back. Sadly humans are in need to be govern because the world would be in chaos if everyone was allowed to roam without any penalties. The realistic-ness of the game is completely over seen once u realize that the game would just end if u just died and never came alive again because that is how life is.

Foo Man choo

It was on friday at the islanders game. I was approached by 3 of my teammates who had a "brilliant" idea. As an intimidation, they told me that for our next tournament, I should grow a foo man choo. My first thought was basically why would I do this. Then I realized how much fun I could have with it. As a man who still has some difficulty growing facial hair, I knew this would be a challenge.

Out of all the games I have played in the ECRHA, I have yet to see any players with facial hair. In the NHL, Trever Gillies of the New York Islanders has a foo man choo, and all he does is kick peoples asses. I'm not the type of person to just kick someones but, like hamlet would, im more of a peaceful guy. However, having the intimidation factor would be awesome to have. Also, it would provide my teammates with some humor.

The Role of Women

I find it amazing how even today there are people who believe that women shouldn't do certain things and only belong in the kitchen. I really realized this when one of my friends said that she was going to cook and one of the guys said "yea thats where women belong; in the kitchen." I dont think he was actually serious about it, but it made me realize that there are people that still think like this. In my opinion this is complete bull. Sure I know how to cook but it doesnt mean that in the future when I'm married that I'm going to be the only one cooking all of the time. This used to happen in my house almost everyday. My mom would come home from work exhausted and have to go straight into the kitchen to cook for the family.

This also reminds me of the play 'A Doll's House' because of the role of the woman. In the play she wasn't allowed to borrow money unless she was with her husband or another man. She was also having to work to pay off the debt and said she felt proud to "earn money as if she was a man." I find this ridiculous because a woman has every right to do anything a man can do. She doesn't have to work 'like a man' because she can work like a woman and probably do it better than how a man would do it.

I also hated how in the past they made Ibsen change the ending to the play. Instead of leaving and discovering who she was in life, he had to write that she just went to the kids and started to cry. What's up with people always making women cry for everything. They need to show women as they are which is strong and independent. In todays society most women have good jobs and can support themselves without the help of a man and thats the way it should be.

Some more NYC

I took the bottoms picture because we've been talking about different textures in class and I thought this was a good representation of that with the curved lines and the individual tiles.
The other pictures are just some more buildings in the city, each one different from the rest. You really don't see buldings anywhere like you see in the city it truly is a remarkable place I hope to go back soon!

NYC

The first picture is really cool I thought. That building had some very interesting lines and curves and I really liked how the windows reflect the clouds in the sky.
The second is a picture of the East River from the waiting room at the hosppital for special surgery.
The third picture is a snapshot of the Queensboro Bridge. The artchitecture of the bridge and beautiful with the detailed trusses.

A Glimpse of NYC

I spent the weekend on the east side of the city on the east river because my dad had double knee replacement at the Hospital for Special Surgery. On the cab ride back to Penn I thought it would be cool to just take a quick video of the buildings as we pass by. The different buildings in the city have so much character, each one so unique and interesting. The film is a little shaky because the cab driver was a maniac driver.

Water texture

Here are just some videos of textures. I really like water and the way it flows and I think that fountains are beautiful that's why I decided to film water.

textureees

Here are two videos of texture i really like the water ripple one..

Plant & Wind

This time around I have wind and plant movement. It's not an exact example of texture but I consider this one because it portrays movement through time like the video of the plant with the wind picking up and dying down. I'm amazed by how such a simple thing can show the beauty of nature in movement.

Sexuality

The sexual relationship in Hamlet with Ophelia is major part of sexuality in how women having sex before marriage is frowned upon and women who have had sex before marriage are looked as like whores. Hamlet had used Ophelia's love and desire for him as a means of getting what he wanted and making Ophelia think that she will have him after he comes back from his studies in England. Sadly the love in this play has been destroyed because the feeling of revenge over rides the honest and sweet Hamlet into ignoring Ophelia and just continue on with his revenge against his uncle. In modern times women and men who have sex frequently without marriage are the norm in most urban environments and even suburb. Only in certain areas around the world are women still seen the same way Ophelia was seen.

Guilt

The plays of Hamlet and Onibaba showed very strong representation of Guilt, since both of the main characters in the play expressed regret and guilt to a certain extent. Although people's personalities may suppress guilt on themselves they may easily give others the feeling of guilt because of their cruel and most likely non optimistic actions toward a situation. Sometimes regret and guilt seem to appear in oneself due to one's own mind is creating a fault for themselves. This type of action is normal in those with too much care for others, or feel the need to be extremely nice to everyone without thinking about their own feelings. Even unconscious actions of not paying attention or spacing out can cause a moment of guilt or regret without even intentionally being hurtful to someone else.

Sunset Yin & Yang

This is one of the snapshots from my sunset video. I think it represents the concept of yin & yang in a way that you can see the distinct separation of land and sky but then you find the atmospheric effect by the setting sun combining the two. Since yin & yang means opposite objects, the sunset is partnered with the sunrise but in this, I saw that the sunset became the link between 2 opposing elements - land and sky.

Texture Videos

These are all videos about water movement. The other night, on campus, I noticed that the lights were up near the fountain. I could've taken the video while the sun was up but the artificial light, the green light especially, creates a different atmosphere direct sunlight couldn't.

Mystical Bond between Man and Machine...

I love cars. My first car was a 99 camry that was given to me by my dad that had prior problems with it. He had replaced the tranny on that car one too many times. I then got a 99 Galant pre modded, and that needed a tad of money to be perfect and then i got into an accident where i drifted, hit curb and broke 2 axels, and 2 rims, bumper and hood. That I fixed up.

Then I popped the hood thinking it was the trunk and forgot to close the hood so i started driving and hood flew up and smashed my windsheild... I fixed that up... Then june of 2010 i was driving my friend to get slurpees on her birthday, and as i was making a U-turn someone behind me was speeding and tried avoiding me by going towards incoming traffic and hitting the side of my car, damaging, the bumper, both fenders,Headlights and the hood. I fixed it all up myself. I spent weeks fiberglassing everything up and primering it, sanding, painting, clear coating, the whole schpeel. I even got new 400 healights for the car. It came out beautiful. The car was in it's prime.

3 weeks after completion on the way home from work my dad texts me, and i look down for a split second, look back up and there was a mini van stopped at a red light in front of me. I was going 50mph because it was a major road with lights. I slammed the breaks, pulled the E shifted to neutral, swung it hard to the right, put it back in drive, overrided the E, and ended up just hitting the rear corner of his car but smashing in my front end. After knicking the car i went into a store landscaping. I received some frame damage, on the drivers side, along with busted headlight, Fender, and hood. All of which i had previously fixed. After the accident happened i realized i didn't hook up the airbag sensors because the airbags didn't deploy. The driver i hit happened to be a mechanic , and a police actually saw the whole accident. Both of which odly enough complimented my driving saying, that if had driven like anyone else, i probably would've been dead, and that the other driver would've been seriously injured.
The car today is still running and parked in my garage until i have time and money and equipment to reinvest into it. I was driving my dads Honda Odessy for some time and Juts recently i got A pontiac G6. I have quite a few plans for this car. But again. only when i have time or money will i invest it in these cars. I love my cars, and i honestly hope to never let go of any of my cars. There is no reason to. So let's invite the latest member into our family... Ain't she a beaut.

AutotuneMagic.com

So when i got my ipad the first thing i did was download the "I AM T-PAIN APP" because i was told it was the "To Have app" if you had an iphone, ipad, or ipod touch. So i got it and at first i didn't realize the potential of the program, but after playing with it a bit i see how much of a powerful tool it can be. So seeing how the Autotune world has been ever so expanding, I decided to make a website called . When this site is completed users will be able to create an account, Login, and be able to post their Auto-Tune Creations online to be heard, viewed, and rated by other users.

I hope to one day be able to have it set up so that people can actually use the service online, and post directly through there, or even get a program developed for auto-tune, and make it friendly to this website.

New Production

Hey there THR 216.

So i'm a busy guy tackling one too many projects. All of which have very rewarding results. And so I ran into another opportunity to spur up another project which has a very high return rate if excecuted correctly. I have collaborated with MC King Freeze. He used to be a local rapper in Florida. He actuall won freestyle competitions and is well known down south for what he does. He moved to New York sometime ago and has put his rap career on pause. I have taken it upon myself to get him noticed and up on his feet. I'm currently undergoing a marketing scheme right now to make this Young and very high potential rapper explode. If you would like to check him out check the site i made for him at . It's currently under construction but at least you can see a taste of whats to come.

Proud to be in EOP.

When I thought about what to write for my article, one thing kept coming to mind is to talk about how I am able to write in this paper now. I owe this to the Education Opportunity Program also known as EOP/AIM. Founded on the campus of Stony Brook University in 1968 with “The purpose of the Educational Opportunity Program is to fulfill New York State’s commitment to provide access to higher education for economically disadvantaged students who possessed the potential to succeed in college, but whose academic preparation in high school has not fully prepared them to pursue college education successfully.” I chose to write about the program because this year PBS did an 8-minute documentary on the program reason being Stony Brook University graduates 65 percent of its Hispanic students and 70 percent of its Black student population this is largely due to the EOP/AIM program. I had the opportunity to be apart of the video process this summer during the 5 week program which you have to go though in order to earn your admission to Stony Brook with completion of the program you earn 6 free credits towards graduation, I was one of the Head Peer Advising Tutor of the summer academy. What a lot of people do not know about the program is that it isn’t a free ride which you hear a lot from students who aren’t in the program, being in the program my self I have had a balance on my account every semester I know majority of the EOP students can relate with me on that. Do not get me wrong we do have special services that are provided such as a tutorial service which is free, a computer lab of our own which is located in our office on the 3rd floor of the Melville library. I recently sat down with one of the counselors which happen to mine Jarvis Watson and asked him if there was one thing you would like to see while you’re here as a counselor change what would that be. His responds was right to the point he told me he wanted 100 percent retention rate for the program but most importantly he stressed that the EOP students who are already apart of the program to don’t let it slip away from them. Meaning stay apart of the family that EOP has built don’t forget your roots, it is all well and good to get involved in other organizations and clubs on campus but whenever you hear about an EOP if you aren’t doing anything you should be there for support because it is this program that got majority of the Latino/Black students to graduation. EOP is a very powerful programs on this campus that have open the doors for leaders on this campus from USG Presidents to leaders of other clubs and orgs and members of fraternity’s and sorority’s. I felt as a student of the program I had to pay my respects. You can check out the video on the Stony Brook website and type in EOP/AIM.

Men.

I am onto you, before you even open your mouth to speak, I can already read your mind. I saw your jaw drop when I walked in, you watched me as I waited on line, and now that I sat across from you because I had no choice, I know you keep looking over your shoulder at me. You keep talking to your friends about me, the girl sitting next to you wants you so badly, but you're blind. She's probably lovely, and sadly, you'll never know.

So I put my headphones in, hoping to get you to stop staring at me. While you're feeling fireworks, I'm feeling goosebumps and wondering if I should notify security that you're about to go crazy. I'm sorry little fella, but I already have a man. I could always use more friends, but frankly you just make me uncomfortable. We will never be romantic although I do take the staring as a compliment.

Close those baby blues before they pop out of your head and go on your merry way. Scamper off and find a new girl to stare at.
