In class Tuesday, we talked about turn Hamlet to a game. What the word "game" first remind me is that there are possibilities, levels and barriers. So what you achieve in games is actually dependent on your skills. However, how to use the feature into plays? Plays have endings, and people who read it know what is happening next. So, I think we can add some scenes into the play to turn it into a game.
Games like Silent Hill 4 have four endings, Hamlet has just one endings, these are irrevocable, so I came up with an idea that we can emphasize on Hamlet's mind. He hates his uncle, and very distressed about his life during a very long period between he found his uncle killed his father and he finally killed his uncle. He was very sad, but he didn't find a chance to kill his uncle until the end. So, as a game, we are kind of living in his mind. We assume that in his heart, he was keep dreaming and trying to kill his uncle, but he just didn't do it. He must be imagine millions of scenes that he killed the uncle. How are those plans? What is the result if he did them instead of killing him in the end? That's how we are going to design this game.
In the game, Hamlet is definitely the main character, and many scenes are actually happened in his mind. Every time he dreamt or thought a way to kill his uncle, he is going to imitate the spot, walk through it and see if it is a good plan. Of course, most of the time, his plans are not perfect, but exactly because of these plans, he finally succeed.
Currently I only have the frame, but to design each scene will be very detailed work.
