After seeing people attain power in such violent ways, it makes us wonder, are the means one goes about to gain power really worth the reward in the end?

POWER HUNGRY
One of the sad facts of life is that we are always looking for power. For some reason, people love to be in possession of power, and at times will do cruel things in order to achieve it. In Shakespeare's play "Hamlet" we see that Claudius goes about achieving power by murdering king Hamlet. He had done this so that in the end he would be able to achieve the power of being king and be able to marry his widow, Queen Gertrude. Although today most people wouldn't go as far as murdering someone (hopefully) in order to attain power, we still see some pretty gruesome things being done. In the academic scene, girls will knock each other down, taking whatever means necessary in order to gain power. In the end, they receive that award that comes with it, which in this case would usually be the affection of a boy. Same goes for the work place. Colleagues will lie and cheat in order to become the powerful one, so that in the end THEY can be the ones that get the higher position or a better raise.
