Productive Use of Scrap Metal

Standing 33 feet tall, this colossal figure of Optimus Prime was constructed in China at the Beijing Olympic Park and is composed of over 10,000 spare metal parts. After viewing this, I'm inclined to believe that China puts their scrap metal to far better use than the rest of the world, because...well, I don't remember seeing any impressive and humongous giant robots at any of the other Olympics. This giant Transformer is apparently nothing new to the area, because not long before this a terrifically lifelike monument of one of the robots from the "Gundam" series was also erected somewhere in China. How's that for art? I swear, they've got all the cool stuff over in Asia.
