In the past couple of years technology has boomed. Enough that most people don't go out and experience their own life. Especially during the winter, many people just sit inside there houses and become very lazy, a "couch potato." Even I like to sit inside my house, check my email, my Facebook. I even do most of my search on line. My homework and studying can also be done over the computer. I can even find movies very easily online like netflix or youtube. Do we even need our famous museums? Are art shows and theaters even worth the money when we can use the computer for free?
To me, theaters and museums still need to be in the new century. People learn from a more hands-on experience, then just looking at the computer and straining your eyes. Going to the Museum of Natural History or MOMA, I had a much more fun time and didn't get bored. It took me hours to go through the museums, while the internet would take only a couple of minutes. I left the museums feeling a sense of accomplishment. It was 3d and I soon realized that if these huge pieces of influence die out, what would our next generations do with their spare time?
Like one of my classmates said, there doesn't need to be a black and white in the concern towards theaters and the internet. The museums display our cultures in a way that the internet wouldn't.
