Switching to Metric system

In about 1795, a group of French scientists invented system that is based on powers of ten.
This system called 'Metric System'. It is universally accepted everywhere, most of countries use the metric system.
However, the United States use standard system. Just think about using meter, Kilogram, Kevin instead of inch, pound and Fehrenheit.
It's really confusing, I mean there are computers and convertors that could easily convert into Metric system number but still, only one mistake can cause really seriouse problems especially in those industries that are making aerospace or airplane.

Therefore, I agree that the U.S should switch in to the Metric system.
I am not 100% agree for switching to Metric system but, just as we can communicate each other in English, I think we need something common universal launguage for the system as well.
