Father v. sperm donor cont.

I think today men have a real difficult time at it. Gender roles are still very much in place and there definitely are set expectations for both genders. I think in a way it's a little easier for women. Women have a choice, we can be both mothers and have a career and do whatever else is necessary. But then again we also have whats called the "second shift" so we can have a career but when we got home we usually have to cook, clean, take care of children etc.. It's difficult to do everything but we can choose whether we want to wear a dress or pants so to speak. For men it's kind of a cliche and there's not much room to move and change things without being ridiculed.

On the other hand, men definitely do have the opportunity to be "fathers" verses parents... for the most part at least in some small way. I know a guy who works in Russia but his family lives here so I think he has an exception because he's only here a couple times a year. I think he should have found a job here that maybe didn't pay as much but they would still have the same lifestyle (it's definitely possible)... but that's another issue.

Oh and what about the kids?
