When I was 8 year old, I used to live in Moscow, Russia. Our family moved to Moscow because of my father’s work. My father worked at the construction company, so the company appointed my father to work in Russia. We were planning to stay Moscow in five years but we couldn’t stay longer because of IMF crises in Korea. The company couldn’t support anymore in Moscow at that time.
So I lived in Moscow only for one year, but I had many unforgettable memories. I went to a Russian elementary school at first time but I couldn’t get along with Russia friends because they thought me as a unique Asian girl, not same as like them. It was my first time to feel the discrimination in my early ages. I was crying a lot after school, and my parent were so sad about that, so I had to change to Korean elementary school. It was a small community as all grade students studied and learned together in the same classroom. It was like going to a small school in countryside. Living in Moscow was a special experience in my childhood.
