should their be a restriction on what you can wear to class?

I'm really curious what everyone thinks about this one. There is one person at Stony Brook who actually made me wonder about this. This girl is in one of my classes, and people flock to the entrance at the end of the class to see what she will wear next. She is known to many people throughout the campus, and let's not forget this is a large campus. I have no idea what her name is, I only know that i have never seen such clothing worn to a school before. This brings about the question, should our school have at least a policy on how much of your skin you should be showing? I'm glad this girl feels so confident in her body that she can wear such outfits, but is this really the place for them? The outfits themselves are extremely short, tight, and revealing. Nothing is left to the imagination. I literally have not gone one class without seeing her full bra (through a usually transparent or cut out in the front shirt) and I can name every color so far. Good for her that she loves her body, but I really don't think this is the place for it. If I saw her at a club, bar, whatever, at night her outfits would at least make sense and be much more appropriate....to the setting. But at 2 pm on a Monday? It just seems a bit excessive to me, especially when it really is distracting. Considering supermodels are a tiny percentage of our population, let's just get it out of the way before the men begin drooling and following me to me class and say that she's not one of that small category of women. So many women today are afraid to show their bodies due to eating disorders, warped senses of self, and media bias that says we are never thin enough or beautiful enough. This girl clearly feels none of that, which is something even I could strive for. I'd love to have more confidence, as most people would. Still, I don't know that I would be wearing outfits that literally show every part of my body. I don't think its a good thing that she's known so well for her "outrageous" clothing but who am I to judge? I just know that I could NEVER wear such revealing things, especially to school where I'm trying to be respected for my mind (let's be real though- I don't put makeup on in the morning to enhance my mind, everyone wants to look at least somewhat their best), not ogled because I'm letting it all hang out. So should we have a minimal dress code? I don't know, because it also brings up the question of if we start with that if could it lead down a path of more and more restrictions? I certainly don't want to be told what I can or cannot wear. I just think maybe it's common sense what might be inappropriate in a school setting. Let me know what you guys think....
