original song number two
here's another one that i made trying to add a bit of rock influence.
original song number one
as part of the thr 216 class we were supposed to make a few different types of songs and they had to be original. so i made a few of them and would like feedback because i feel they are all the same but then again im the one composing and my brain is a little tire from song making since i dont listen to a lot of music, so im not that experienced on what to hear for. comments welcome!!!
Don Juan legend
Don Juan is a rogue and a libertine who takes great pleasure in seducing women and (in most versions) enjoys fighting their champions. Later, in a graveyard, Don Juan encounters a statue of Don Gonzalo, the dead father of a girl he has seduced, Doña Ana de Ulloa, and impiously invites the father to dine with him; the statue gladly accepts. The father's ghost arrives for dinner at Don Juan's house and in turn invites Don Juan to dine with him in the graveyard. Don Juan accepts and goes to the father's grave, where the statue asks to shake Don Juan's hand. When he extends his arm, the statue grabs hold and drags him away to Hell.
The game
To be honest, until the class on Tuesday, I really like this game. It's about coorperation, team and fun. I really believe that Thr104 is the best class I have taken...Although the other arranged a person in our group in order to watch where we hided the things, I was excited because I think it is a good strategy and our group are unable to think about that.
However, everything changed. Through our discussion, we all believe that changing the password for a while and upload our report first is a really good strategy. We never mean to destroy anything. We just follow the game and really want to win. That's it! We are not rude as the other group said...
We are in the same university, we are in the same class, we are friends, right?

Chopsticks part
This was wrote in 10/24/2010.
In the beginning of the game, we didn't go out to hide the six things immediately, but stayed in the classroom and made a plan. We wrote down our names in notebook in order to manage people and tag our names in the post. Then we decide who take pictures as "witness" and who take notes. Finally we grabed the six things and went out of the building.
It was really hard to find perfect locations in short time, but we had to. So we decide the location of the first thing, chopsticks. It was in the garbage of Wang center, and we sent someone record the process. Chopsticks are easy to be find if hided in a obvious place, so we need something to cover it. Garbage is a good location because the thing will be covered but distinguished easily from other things because they are used. Finally they didn't find it, I guess. But someone from group A heard us talking and kept saying "they hide it in the garbage." ...That's weird.
It was hard to follow the instructions that Group A gave us, because they were so confusing. "Do cows eat chopsticks?" "What?" Should we suppose to find a cow to answer us? Of course not. Then, we guess it might have something to do with grass because of a stupid reason, we saw them staying in the area for a long time, and there are actually have some sort of relationship with cows. Cow eat grass but not chopsticks, so we eventually found the chopsticks under the grass. The poor package was almost worn out.

After Six Things Game
This was wrote in 10/24/2010.
After we just finished the game, professor asked me if i learned anything about human nature in this game. I was worrying about the three things that we haven't found yet, so i shook my head subconsciously. Then, when i finished my classes and stuff for the day and came back to dorm, opened the blog site and tried to upload my pictures and videos, I found the password was changed. I tried a few times but failed again and again. I was shocked and started to recall what happened in the game. Without any doubt, I think there are something bad in human nature, something really bad. Before we played the game, professor seemed like encouraging people rogue, and do something bad on their own. But actually few people will do that in public because we are not only living to get a good score, but trying to be good. At least i will not rogue. And someone pointed out that we will be in the same class room for the next half semester, and no one wants to be hated by others. However, i didn't think that someone will change the password that no one can log in and finish the blog post before 12am. I think that is even worse than being rogue during the game. The people wants to make us all fail? When no one knows who did it, will the one feel at ease like nothing happen? Should I name is a kind of selfish or something? Because the one want his or her group or just himself or herself to win. It is hard to imagine, but, well, this is human nature, and I learned it. I forget the blog title and address so i can only write as Word document first here.

OUTSMART ME?
Yesterday in class there seemed to be somewhat of a "war of words" on team B's strategy to win The Most Dangerous Game. Many people felt it was unfair that team B changed the password and sabotaged the other team in order to win. They felt that this was taking it too far, and was unfair to the rest of the class. However, although I was not on Team B, I in particular don't think that what they did wrong in anyway. All they were sim[ly doing was taking any means necessary in order to win the game, and isn't that what life is all about. In the game of life, each of us does whatever we must do in order to succeed, and although some of us are more honest than others, there is no denying the fact that we at least once have done something in order to get ahead and win. It's a part of our human nature, and at times, acts such as these are simply what it takes to get ahead.
Also, Team B's tactic proved to be a bump in the road for Team A. In life, we will always find something that blocks us on our road, and part of life is finding a solution to that problem, a way to outsmart our competitor's. In life, there is no fair and unfair, there are no rules, we are simply thrown into a big pool of water and must find a way to survive. No matter what endeavour we set out on, there will always be an obstacle blocking our path, and it is up to us to create a solution to this problem. We must find a better, smarter, way around it in order to beat the man and our competitor's. Team B's tactic was a smart choice that proved how real life works and how in reality we must always find a way to outsmart those that stand in our way.
Creation
I have created two songs for our class tomorrow. I can't seem to figure out how to export them. I don't know why I can understand how to use things sometimes but not other times. The first "song" is ethereal and just is relaxing and could be something to just hang out to. The second is the ambient noise in a city. The city would probably be in Europe considering the sirens from the ambulances going off.
Despite
Despite all the bitching about the site being hacked, nobody has blogged since it has been given back to the professor. Don't I feel honored. I am trying to work on these songs for the professor for tomorrow's class and I don't seem to have any ideas. Normally things just come to me but nothing at the moment. I am watching my boyfriend play COD: World At War and I am really hating it. I hate violent games. I hate them a lot. So, I think my ambient noise will be war.

Language Revolution
Earlier in the semester, we discussed language and how it is used in society and how different people peak differently to others. I felt so strongly about this topic, so much that I have stopped cursing for approximately five days. Boy, has it been rough.
I never realized I was such a sailor. I was always one to say I curse occasionally; but, as of now, I think it is safe to say that I was a truck driver. It is not something I am proud of, but I think it is something I had to admit. As stated, I was previously in denial.
I hope that I can continue this trend because it makes me think before I speak which is something challenging for not only me, but for everybody. It never dawned on me how little thought we put into the language we use each day.

The Game
As we all know, last Thursday we played “the game”. In a sense, the game was the prisoner’s dilemma, and in m opinion was an enormous amount of fun. It was really entertaining to see people at their worst and how they reacted when something was in their way. In addition, I also enjoyed watching people search for items that were hidden in blatantly obvious spots.
To further elaborate, Team B asked me if I would give them a clue for a clue. I said yes, and Rita gave me a clue and I never had the chance to give her my clue. Why you ask? She walked away; it seemed as though everyone was caught up in the game and quite frankly forgot what they were doing even as they were doing it.
Confusion also set in when I realized my team was playing tricks on me because they thought was going rogue. Quite simply, THERE WAS NO REASON FOR ME TO GO ROGUE. I was trying to do my best to help my team throughout the entire activity. Apparently, my wrong move was going over to the other team and snooping over there. In my opinion, I think that’s helping team A, but apparently I was wrong.
I do have to admit, this was an extremely fun activity in which I got to understand and learn about my fellow students and how they acted under pressure as well as fear.

Don Juan Scavenger Hunt Team A
To Be Written...
Well, this was supposed to have been written by Varun Suchday...
Where are you Varun?
It's 1:12 A.M. and you haven't written the blog yet!!!
Let me start by saying, Don't worry Professor Baldwin and my fellow students, I will return control of Spatial Narratology to you as soon as Team A is crowned the victor and given the illustrious A.
I devised a plan to change the password, thus preventing Team B and any Rouge students from writing a blog. The rules of the scavenger hunt state that each team must complete the Scavenger Hunt and write a blog on the http://spatialnarratology.blogspot.com/ (this site) page about it. The team with the best blog would be given the "A" and all the other teams would be given an "F". Since we would be the only team with a blog, we would win by default. Like the "cheaterfish", the end would justify the means. However, unlike the cheaterfish, I decided to share my winning strategy with my teammates, allowing them to share in my victory. I could have went Rougue, but instead decided to be generous. I entrusted Varun with the task of writing the blog for us and being the only member with the password. I even gave up access to the password myself so that my team would be comfortable with the plan. Where the hell are you Varun?
I had to leave myself and my team an out, just in case Varun did not accomplish what he was supposed to. For this reason, prior to informing the team of my plan, I attached my email, to the "forgot password" option. Since Varun did not blog by midnight, as he was supposed to, I was forced to take control of the website. All pictures/videos for the scavenger hunt can be emailed to me at chrissorto@hotmail.com
Here's a little background information about the scavenger hunt. Team A hid the items in the following places:
Postcard - above the door at the Staller Music Building
Don Juan Sheet- near the bicycle rack at the bookstore
Don Louise Sheet - in the hands of a random student in the court yard
Chopsticks - under a patch of grass near steps in the court yard
******* sheet (forgot name) - under a brick near the Staller Arts Building
Cd rom - Between trash bin and recycle bin
Picture Frame - on grassy hill in the court yard
Team B items that we recoverd:
Picture Frame - on the windowsill of Staller Arts Building
Name Sheets - trash can, etc.
** I will update this as my team sends me the information**
Here are a few pictures from the hunt (it will be updated as soon as I recieve more pics)

Sorry Professor Baldwin I wanted to let you in on our plan by midnight. It's now 2 A.M. and I am going to sleep. I will post more tomorrow. I will let you know my teammates names as soon as they email me with their pictures/videos.

phone issues
Phones do not like me. At all. They never have and never will. I went through something like 9 blackberries in 2 years and a couple other odd phones. They just die. I take excellent care of them, I buy a case for them 2 weeks before I get the damn phone but still they die. My boyfriend's old blackberry literally fell apart and it still worked... I wish I had his luck. Anyway, I was thinking about jailbreaking my new iphone and the wheels in my head started turning.
Steve Jobs has an enormous amount of control over people. Quite a few people want to buy what he makes and I don't think most of them even know why... and no, because it's pretty isn't a reason. It kind of blows my mind that he has that much control over people because his (apple's) products are pretty much locked down. There's only so much you can do to modify what "he" made for you. You'd think that would make people shy away from buying his stuff, but NOOO people when crazy when the new iphone came out. Even when people found out about the antenna issue they still ran out (or slept outside when new stock came in) to buy the phone. People waiting in line to buy a phone that you cannot make calls from unless you hold it a certain way... talk about limitations. And Job's solution was just to hold it a different way! Yeah like I'm going to listen to some guy tell me how I should hold MY phone that I dished out MY money for. Thanks but no. And people bought it because it's pretty? I bet a lot of people bought it because it's the new thing.
I had an HTC phone before this and I COMPLETELY changed the OS. I basically turned my phone into just another piece of plastic and went and picked out a "cooked" operating system that wasn't clogged with promotional material that you cannot delete that slowed down the phone horribly. Talk about customization. Granted the phone didn't last long, I needed to update the OS and since you cannot hook up a windows phone to a mac (even through virtual machines) and change the OS. So long story short, the phone went bye bye and I finally got my iphone.
One of the reasons I like Macs is because their software is legit, it's not like on a windows pc (pc stands for personal computer so pc does not equal windows.. it's a pet peve)where you have some random software made by whomever. I think the belief that there are no viruses for Macs isn't true. A lot of people have Macs so I'm sure there will be more viruses for them in the near future. I'm rambling.
As for the jailbreaking, I jailbreaked (jailbroke?) my ipod touch and that's fine. I don't go on the internet too often on it so I guess I'll see how it goes.
30? My brain is mush.

Who runs things
I think men are usually expected to run things and make the decisions and what not. I think they think they're the ones that do it but that's not how it really works. I think women push men into making decisions and make them believe they thought of it. Think My Big Fat Greek Wedding when they let the girl (don't remember her name) go take the classes in college. Her mother and aunt decide to make the father believe he came up with the idea. They just steer him in the right direction and mission accomplished.
I think that's how it works a lot of times, men may not know it but yeah. Trying to control everything will get you "caught" but doing it once in a while for important things makes more sense. Controlling everything wouldn't be fun either.
On the upside since traditional women's roles are changing now we don't have to sneak in decisions. It seems like the one who makes the most money in a household carries the most weight and can make more decisions. But even without that, women usually decide what's for dinner, how the kids should be raised if the man's working and a lot of other household stuff. Since she can speak for the kids she can put in her 2 cents for vacation spots and whatnot. So sorry guys, you may think you run things but the truth is.. we do.
It maybe a cliche but men, for the most part, want sex and after sex when you're practically a bowl of jello (like you can poke it and it just wiggles, there's not much of a reaction) women can slip in a few of her own ideas.
In a relationship, both parties have to give and take. After you realize you aren't enemies and there isn't a winner and a loser if you have to compromise a lot can be accomplished.
"A man may wear the pants in the family but the woman controls the zipper."

"Stumbleupon" facebook style
One of my friends posted a spoken word piece she did about breast ironing. I'm pretty interested in woman's rights and just practices that women take part of in different cultures specifically in other places other than the US and this caught my attention. In the US, it seems cultural practices are mushed (it's a technical term) together so it's difficult to distinguish the origin of the tradition. I'm more interested in African, Asian and Middle Eastern culture because it is so different from when I see on a daily basis.
I've heard some pretty grotesque stuff over the years. I've heard about women that have had genital mutational. I've done a lot of research and read as many accounts as I could about what's going on in the Republic of the Congo. I've done research about Middle Eastern women and their treatment changed because of the arrival of the Taliban. I'm slowly drifting towards Asian culture but I'll get there. There's still so much I'd like to learn.
Anyway, I guess this is my reaction to the news story I read as a result of hearing the spoken word piece on facebook. I can see why the mothers would do this. I think just about every mother would want to protect their daughter from early sexual advances but even reading this hurt. Heating objects and pounding into a little girl's breasts makes me want to crawl into my closet and hide. I understand everyone has their own practices and beliefs but how can you hurt your child like that. I understand they want to protect them from sexual advances and early marriages but this is cruel. One of the girls or now women said " I wanted to go to school like other girls who had no breasts " I'm sorry but what? And some women did it to themselves. I'm sure my mother doesn't want me to have children or get married before I finish school, she doesn't now and she didn't when I was younger, but I think this is extreme.
But then again, this isn't entirely the mother's fault. The men and media play a part too. And unless their minds can be changed, this or something like this will continue to happen. I'm looking at it from outside in so I cannot definitively say this is wrong because I was not brought up in that culture. But then again, if an outside party questions something or says maybe it's not the best idea and you're blinded by cultural traditions maybe it's time you check yourself. I don't know, this is just my 2 cents on this. I included the BBC article so if anyone reads this or is curious be my guest.

More room progress
This is what I have done so far with my room. It isn't really a dream room though, just something standard so far. I haven't done anything special. There's a mini fridge, small aquarium, poker table, computer table, and a TV with a stand placed in the room. I was planning on adding more such as a projector with a pull down screen for movies and a surround sound system, but once again I don't have good time management skills. This is it so far...

Theater Progress
Well, this is what I got so far. I really wish I had more time to work on this. Between all the midterms, projects, and homeworks I've had, I haven't been able to manage my time effectively. This theater basically has a circular style to it and has a lot of lighting setup. You can see floor lighting setup too around the stage and some floor lights in the back.

Male & Female Roles Reversed?
Don Juan
Okay I' in the middle of reading this play and right now Don Juan is talking to Charlotte and asking her to marry him because he has fallen madly in love with her. While I'm reading this, all I can think of is "damn this guy is good." Everything he says sounds mad sincere and if I didnt know what kind of an ass he is to women even I would believe him. He tells her how he thinks she is beautiful and how she wasn't made to marry a peasant and that he was sent from heaven to prevent her from making that mistake. This whole time that he is saying this you cant help but think "damn..this is really good bull."
I also found it amazing how he justifies his actions. He says that there is no way that he can commit to one woman because then it wouldn't be fair to deny his love to other women who deserve to be loved. He can't be with one woman because he is enthralled by many.
He truly does see what he does as a game. Don Juan will find a woman and try to court her. At first the woman will be resistant and not want him, but the more he tries the more willing she becomes. Then his great accomplishment is when he can get even one of the most modest women to sleep with him. But thats where the game ends for him. According to him, at this point "Desire is tempered, lessened, sated; There's nothing more to say and naught to do ....there's naught left to be given or received..." In other words "ok I'm finished with you...NEXT!"
it will never end!
Look at the topic! This is what is on my mind now. Two things: My car & quizzes.
This week is the third week that I have tests/quizzes; yet, I still have a mid term next week. What is going on here?! Way too much..
My car is the pain in the ... it's been giving me headache since I started driving two months ago. I have it fixed for 3 times in 2 months, and it is still sick! I think it got some sorts of cancer. No known cure can be deployed! "Shitty car, I'm selling you now!!!"
I really don't mind working on stuffs but I really do mind unpleasant recurrence like this. Come on, leave me alone bad luck..
ughhhhh.

I've been making my cargo house thing basically all night. I actually really liked something I made in sketchup, which never happens. Stupidly, I never pressed save once throughout the process. And now I only have one picture of it and the rest of it is gone because I was on the phone while trying to export 2d graphics, hit new while I wasn't paying attention and the entire thing disappeared. So after a day of being in an insanely good mood, I get to go to sleep in a horrible one. I hope this assignment isn't that important because I only have one picture and it wasn't even a good one. Anyway, I took four container things and each container is a different room. There's the bedroom, living room, bathroom/dining room and kitchen. There are solar panels on the roof to provide the electricity. Honestly, this is all I would want in a house because it is so compact. Big spaces get overwhelming for me and I would never be able to keep them clean. So this is what I have; goodnight.

Cargo Home

So heres my finished product for the cargo home assignment. This home has it all, fully furnished bedroom, bathroom, livingroom and kitchen. I even made my own built in pool in the back and threw in a sweet looking spiral staircase to not only save space but give the home a unique look.
